From WikiDeal
This is the approved revision of this page, as well as being the most recent.

💡 In simple words: This is where we share WikiDeal news: what is moving forward, what we learn, and how we look at the world of trade to propose something better.

🎯 In 20 seconds (scientific summary): The WikiDeal Blog is the project's news portal. It is meant to be the antechamber of a social network that takes a critical — yet always constructive — look at the culture of trade and marketplaces, and that champions solutions.

Editorial line (statement of intent)

This blog publishes news on WikiDeal's progress and, more broadly, on how it fits into a global and local landscape of existing marketplaces — so the difference can be seen clearly. Its guiding thread: the long tail, that is, networking the small players of a given field.

It builds on the WikiDeal rules of the game, and in particular this principle:

  • We do not criticise without proposing. One must always propose, and stay measured in our criticism. The goal is to be a force for proposals. But sometimes, to propose, one must point out the dysfunctions — in order to better propose how to fix them.
  • We do not reinvent the wheel. Rather than "I have a new idea", we give priority to: "here is how to adapt existing mechanisms, methods and solutions to the specific context."

It is on the basis of this statement of intent that the news is published here.
