Gov/en/Portal:Economy/Donation-Roundtable-1
馃挕 In simple words: To start building WikiDeal, people can give money in a first big round of donations, called Donation Roundtable 1. The goal is to gather one million Swiss francs. To say thank you, givers receive Rewards: the earlier you give, the more Rewards you receive for the same amount.
馃幆 In 20 seconds (scientific summary): Donation Roundtable 1 is the first donation round intended to fund Prototype 1, with a target of CHF 1,000,000. The Reward multiplier is intended to be blocked at x100 for the first CHF 200,000 raised; beyond that point, the bonding curve declines and the Need-Driven Funding mechanism starts. The exact amount of Rewards is announced to each donor at the moment of the donation, and that amount exclusively is attributed. This page is an initial hypothesis, under construction, proposed as a basis for discussion.
Donation Roundtable 1
What Roundtable 1 is
Donation Roundtable 1 (also referred to as the First Financial Roundtable for Prototype 1) is the first donation round of the WikiDeal project. It aims at raising CHF 1,000,000 of donations to fund the construction of Prototype 1 and its deliverables.
Contributions are donations to the Ynternet.org Foundation, not investments: they confer no ownership, no share and no right of repayment. In gratitude, donors receive Rewards, the community redistribution mechanism of WikiDeal.
Reward multiplier: x100 for the first CHF 200,000
The number of Rewards attributed for a donation is intended to follow these rules:
- For the first CHF 200,000 raised in Roundtable 1, the Reward multiplier is blocked at x100: a donation of CHF 1,000 would be acknowledged with Rewards for a value of CHF 100,000.
- Beyond the first CHF 200,000, the bonding curve declines progressively, and the Need-Driven Funding mechanism starts to regulate the redistribution.
The amount that counts is the one announced at donation
When a person makes a donation, the corresponding amount of Rewards is computed from the bonding curve and the Need-Driven Funding mechanism, and announced to the donor at that moment. That amount, and that amount exclusively, is attributed to the donor's Rewards.
Activation and cash out
- A donation becomes effective when the payment is confirmed: immediately for a credit card payment, or upon receipt of a bank transfer (which can take up to 7 days).
- As soon as the donation is effective, the donor's Rewards are active: redistribution can start from the first subscription received, within the minute following the activation of the donation.
- Cash out is available in increments of at least CHF 100: amounts below CHF 100 accumulate until the available balance reaches CHF 100. See the Cashout policy.
