💡 In simple words: When people give money to help WikiDeal grow, they trust the project. Later, if WikiDeal asks for more money to keep growing, the first helpers should not feel that their part becomes smaller: the promise made to them must stay solid. This page is a future call for ideas on how to keep that trust. It is not open yet, and nothing is decided.

🎯 In 20 seconds (scientific summary): Draft open call, under construction, wave 2, not yet launched. It is intended to invite proposals on the preservation of trust in view of a second funding round after the first million. The goal is to avoid any approach resembling share dilution (WikiDeal issues no shares) and to design instead an approach of sharing redistributions: Rewards are intended to be redistributed progressively and are not designed as a return on investment. Scope, awards and deadline are to be defined at launch.

Open call: trust preservation (draft, under construction)

What this call is intended to be about

The trust of donors and of Rewards holders is a central asset of the WikiDeal model. This draft open call starts from an essential notion: trust preservation in view of a second funding round (a second appeal), after the first million, and asks how the trust of the first supporters would be preserved when new funding is added.

The call is explicitly not looking for a logic of share dilution: WikiDeal issues no shares. It aims instead at a logic of sharing redistributions. In line with the values of the model, Rewards are intended to be redistributed progressively; they are not designed as a return on investment.

Open questions for this call

  • How could a second round add new Rewards without weakening the redistribution value promised to the holders of the first round?
  • Which mechanisms could preserve trust: caps, subscription allocations, the transparency of Need-Driven Funding, the parameters of the bonding curve?
  • Which existing references could inspire the design: cooperative models, platform cooperatives, Exit to Community?
  • How would the answer be explained simply enough for first-round supporters to verify the promise themselves?

Status

This is a wave 2 draft: it is announced as an upcoming open call and is not yet launched. Scope, awards and deadline are intended to be defined at launch. The general rules of the Open Call would apply, in particular the rules of the game.
