💡 In simple words: A user group is a team that runs one part of WikiDeal, like babysitting in a city. This page shows the steps to start your own group.

Launch a User Group

WikiDeal scales horizontally through User Groups. A User Group manages a specific marketplace portal (for example, babysitting in Geneva, or web design globally) and writes the contracts governing its members. Here is how to launch your own portal.

Steps

  1. Choose your domain. Identify the specific service your group will provide. It should be clear, legally definable, and have existing market demand.
  2. Define your region and language. Decide whether your group operates globally (digital services) or locally (physical services), and which language will govern the contracts: local (city or region), national (country), or global (language-based).
  3. Recruit founding members. WikiDeal requires a minimum of 3 founding members (at least one acting as coordinator) to establish a new User Group and prevent abandoned portals.
  4. Draft base contracts. Work with WikiDeal's legal contributors to draft the specific base contract for your profession, setting the minimum standards and compensatory measures.
  5. Foundation review. The Ynternet.org Foundation reviews the proposal to ensure it complies with the AGPL v3 licensing, non-extractive principles, and local labor laws. Review takes 2–4 weeks.
  6. Launch your portal. Once approved, your User Group gets its dedicated marketplace portal, autonomous treasury tracking, and voting rights in the global WikiDeal governance.
