Gov/en/Portal:Meta/Prototype-1-Deliverables
🎯 In 20 seconds (scientific summary): Prototype 1 lists the deliverables of the first CHF 1,000,000, in two stages: Stage A (~CHF 200,000, foundations and internal pilot) and Stage B (~CHF 800,000, open calls and scaling). Workstreams run in parallel and priorities may be revised. These are objectives, not promises: the only guarantee is to deliver reports, results and demonstrations of what has been done, with a best-efforts commitment and no guarantee of reaching everything.
💡 In simple words: This page lists the things the first test version of WikiDeal must deliver. The work happens on several building sites at the same time, and at the end, the people who gave money will get the results promised here.
Prototype 1 Deliverables
From WikiDeal, a Wikipedia of e-commerce · Annex to the Funding Contract
This page is an annex to the Funding Contract for the first CHF 1,000,000 funding round. It lists the deliverables for Prototype 1, organized into milestones. A second wave of deliverables for Prototype 2 is partially anticipated at the end of this document.
The deliverables below are ongoing workstreams executed in parallel. Priorities may be revised along the way, but the commitment is expressed from the angle: at the end, you will have the results listed on this page.
As an initial hypothesis, the CHF 1,000,000 is intended to be allocated in about five parts of roughly CHF 200,000 each: open calls (management and rewards, at least 20% of the round), technology (software development), marketplace use cases, governance, and legal aspects, with launch costs, corrective actions and contingencies absorbed across these parts. These are initial tendencies: the detailed allocation is intended to be defined by the Steering Committee and the Ynternet.org Foundation.

Overview
Note: Milestones follow a logical sequence: a milestone is validated before the next one is declared reached. In practice, many workstreams run in parallel across milestones, and priorities may be revised along the way.
Prototype 1 covers all deliverables achievable with the first CHF 1,000,000. It is organized into approximately 4 milestones. The deliverables span 5 dimensions:
- Technology: Bonding Curve, Need-Driven Funding mechanism, Dashboard, Distribution algorithms, AI integration
- Marketplace: Pilot use cases (Babysitting, Street Fundraising, etc.) demonstrating the model in practice
- Community: Civic Incentive, Waves, Communities of Practice, Early Adopters programme, market development
- Communication: Explainer videos, communication campaigns, presentation tours
- Governance: Full contract modelling, multilingual core content, Open Calls operational
Two funding stages: foundations then open calls
The CHF 1,000,000 round is structured in two stages, addressing the cold start effect:
- Stage A (~CHF 200,000): foundations and internal pilot. Deliver the base technology maximising user autonomy (including the WikiDeal Internal AI for contract analysis/transformation), finalize the funding engine, formalize the rules of the game, strengthen and complete the legal foundations, and build WikiDeal's own community as the sole initial pilot, driven by the bonding curve and participatory funding. No external recruitment or migration yet.
- Stage B (~CHF 800,000): open calls and scaling. Launch open calls for pilot experiments, open to any type of community (federations and user-group representatives running pilots). Spheres of activity are defined, deliberately avoiding head-on competition with very mature markets (short-term housing / Airbnb-type, taxi transport / Uber-type). Prerequisites: clearer rules of the game, demonstrated legal feasibility (arbitration), one-click smartphone-app generation pulling wiki data, and peer/lawyer endorsement validating contracts. The deliverables of this stage notably include the results of the whole wave 2 of open calls (evolving list).
User adoption target
Before the first CHF 1,000,000 is fully used, WikiDeal aims at reaching a broad user base: minimum 100,000 users, ideally 1,000,000. This range is intentionally wide, so as not to overcommit while stating a clear ambition.
This adoption is intended to be achieved notably through migrations of other platforms, social networks and public-utility online services toward WikiDeal. Concrete examples of such candidate services: babysitting cooperatives or peer-to-peer lending projects.
Milestone 1: Donation and Reward Structure Implemented
Goal: donation and reward mechanism functioning
- Early Adopter programme launched (including Funding contracts and annexes)
- Funding engine finalized: donation chain working end to end (sign-up, donation form, payment validation, Reward activation, funder dashboard, cash out)
- Need-Driven Funding mechanism designed and documented
- Rules of the game formalized (governance, innovations), laying the bases to launch targeted research
- Legal foundations: the existing legal studies are strengthened and completed, with legal opinions issued on the different aspects, notably the donation mechanisms and the Rewards mechanisms
- Founder's rights transferred to the Ynternet.org Foundation
- Pre-launch costs covered
- Steering Committee constituted
- Initial communication operations (detailed planning, working groups formation, open calls preparation)
- Wave 1 open calls delivered: three early bird calls launched on 21 July 2026, the opening day of Wikimania 2026 in Paris, each offering CHF 1,000 in direct cash and CHF 10,000 in Rewards (no guarantee):
- URL naming and general structure (open until a first simple version has been adopted)
- Graphic charter and trademark proposals (open until a first simple version has been adopted)
- Spectacular tutorial on small loans (competitive, 21 December 2026 deadline)
- Donation and reward mechanism functioning (Note: The technical Bonding Curve rules are documented separately)
- 2 reward types operational:
- Donor: making a donation without guarantee of return.
- Reward: conditional rewards, where a portion is kept by the person and a portion is allocated to the community based on the Need-Driven Funding mechanism.
Milestone 2: Marketplace Pilots
Goal: demonstrate real-world marketplace operation
- At least 2 marketplace pilots live (Babysitting, Street Fundraising)
- Contract modelling for all pilot domains (base contracts, amendments, compensation, closing)
- Need-Driven Funding tested in at least one marketplace domain
- User Group (Community of Practice) operational for each pilot
Milestone 3: Community & Distribution
Goal: reward distribution and civic engagement running
- Rewards distribution mechanism implemented
- Karma token system formalized. Karma tokens are an internal barter system for services, products, exchanges, functional economy and mutual support: the system is formalized during Prototype 1 and its launch is planned for Prototype 2, not for the very beginning: step 1 is devoted to constituting the structure, and no services are provided yet at the start.
- Note: reputation-based rewards ("reputation credits") were removed from these deliverables on 3 August 2026 and are deliberately not part of the current model. The concept is only examined in the wave 2 open call on reputation rewards, a study without commitment.
- Civic Incentive operational: Flex Pricing applied in at least one marketplace
- Waves programme launched (at least one priority User Group wave: e.g., arbitration groups)
- Market development: creating the conditions for marketers to launch and run their own User Groups
- A targeted presentation tour in the living labs and incubators of universities and academic hubs, mostly oriented toward social economy and digital commons: launching targeted research on specific aspects of the project, associating research questions and donations, launching open calls, and forming the embryos of future User Groups
- Modelling of all contracts linked to community stimulation dynamics
- Explainer videos produced (at least 3: intro, funding, marketplace pilot)
Milestone 4: Governance
Goal: governance framework operational, ready for Prototype 2 preparation
- Open Calls fully operational (all 3 tracks: Permanent, Need-Driven Funding, Prototype)
- Wave 2 open calls defined, launched, managed and delivering results (the list of wave 2 calls is intended to evolve, and the share of the budget they represent is not yet fixed)
- Study of Karma tokens
- CDIEM evaluation process live (peer review, reputation system, and the CDIEM parameters: Conception, Design, Implementation, Evaluation, Maintenance)
- Multilingual translation of all core content completed
- Governance transfer criteria defined (Steering Committee → community)
- Communication campaigns: at least 2 major campaigns
- Position paper for Prototype 2 drafted (based on learnings from P1)
AI integration: four fundamental needs
Before the end of Prototype 1, WikiDeal intends to integrate AI assistance (see WikiDeal Internal AI) serving four fundamental needs:
- Co-create contract models: help users bring in and transform contracts (mandates, employment, volunteering, loans, sharing), so that trends of social, solidarity and real-cost clauses can emerge.
- Co-finance, understand and appreciate: help people understand how they can make donations and how they can cash out their Rewards.
- Conclude and manage contracts: assist the first use cases, from the conclusion of a contract to its day-to-day management.
- Governance without barriers to entry: facilitate the integration of newcomers so that they feel like actors in the project and can contribute to open calls and to the evolution of the rules of the game. Other wikis often show high barriers to entry (which is not a problem in itself); WikiDeal aims at reducing and avoiding such barriers.
Prototype 2: Preview
Prototype 2 deliverables will be defined through the Prototype Proposal process described in Open Call. At this stage, the following themes are anticipated:
- Launch of numerous marketplaces
- A new funding call, in a form adapted to the learnings of the first stage
- Karma token launched and tested: the internal barter system for services, products, exchanges, functional economy and mutual support, formalized during Prototype 1
- Refinement of the Bonding Curve formula based on real data from P1
- Expansion to additional marketplace domains (Housing, Transport, etc.)
- Full autonomy of community governance (reduced Steering Committee role)
- Advanced Civic Incentive mechanisms (representation rights, analysis seats)
