WikiDeal aims at keeping its core concepts simple. Before adding any new incentive layer, the community would rather ask openly: would this actually help users, or just make the system harder to understand? This page frames that question for a future collective study, so that any decision emerges from transparent, participative examination rather than from a quiet design choice.
Open call: reputation rewards (study)
About this call
WikiDeal aims at keeping its core concepts simple, so "reputation rewards" are deliberately not part of the current model. This wave 2 call is intended to study whether, and how, reputation-based rewards could complement existing tools at a later stage, notably Karma tokens and reputation scores.
An illustrative use case: a long-standing member who reliably delivers on contracts might, under such a scheme, receive some recognition beyond her reputation score. Whether that recognition should exist, and what form it could take, is exactly what the study would examine.
Scope (to be refined)
- Whether reputation-based rewards would add value for users, or only add complexity.
- How they would relate to Karma tokens, reputation scores and the reputation management approach.
- Risks: gaming, inequality between users, confusion with monetary Rewards.
Who does what
- Contributors would submit analyses and proposals once the call launches.
- Reviewers designated by the Open Call process would assess them.
- The community would decide, transparently, whether the concept enters the model at all.
