💡 In simple words: WikiDeal needs a computer program so that people can give money to the project and see their account on a dashboard. This call looks for software developers who can build it from the model already drawn (the mockup), get a small payment now, and a much bigger one later if the project works.

What this call is about

This is what we need to develop: the WikiDeal funding ecosystem, shown in this mockup:

We have a dedicated dev server running www.wikideal.net on MediaWiki. But for funding, we need a dashboard and other management tools with SSO (connected to our MediaWiki from wikideal.net) outside the MediaWiki instance.

How this call works

This call works differently from the other open calls:

Developers post their questions and their offer. On the answer page of this call, developers ask their questions on the mockup (how it works, the database, the SSO...) and propose their service, with links to their previous results and the sums requested in cash and in Rewards.
The steering committee contacts and mandates. The committee contacts candidates and mandates a provider to develop on the basis of the mockup, submit to test, adapt, then maintain the service without improvement during 1 year after delivery. Each improvement is paid by the hour.
Priority on new mandates. If the person has delivered the service to satisfaction, they get priority on new mandates.

We wish to get offers from software developers, with:

After we have provided answers that are accepted by potential software development service providers, we wish to receive answers to the following questions:
How much time, estimated, to develop and maintain this "WikiDeal funding" service during 12 months after delivering?
How much money would you accept to get in Rewards (not guaranteed, but ×10 compared to normal payment: for instance, instead of US$ 25/hour, it would be US$ 250/hour)?
How much money do you request in cash (amount paid 20% before starting, 50% at delivery, 30% later)?

The deal we hope for

Ideally, for us, we would hope to have a deal such as:

US$ 10/hour in cash, and
US$ 300/hour in Rewards.

Total for 100 hours of work: US$ 1,000 paid cash in 3 parts + 30,000 Rewards if the project works.

Good to know

We give preference to persons expert in MediaWiki, since the /funding mockup is one of the rare developments needed outside MediaWiki.
The payer is the Ynternet.org Foundation, the Swiss non-profit foundation carrying the WikiDeal project at this stage (see the Open Call FAQ).
We give preference to persons able to charge at least 50% of their usual hourly rate in Rewards.
We only give a mandate to an independent worker with an invoice, not to employees.
We can provide all necessary guarantees of payment for the cash-paid part.
