💡 In simple words: This page lists the things the first test version of WikiDeal must deliver.
Prototype 1 Deliverables
From WikiDeal, a Wikipedia of e-commerce · Annex to the Funding Contract
This page is an annex to the Funding Contract for the first CHF 1,000,000 funding round. It lists the deliverables for Prototype 1, organized into milestones. A second wave of deliverables for Prototype 2 is partially anticipated at the end of this document.
Overview
Prototype 1 covers all deliverables achievable with the first CHF 1,000,000. It is organized into approximately 4 milestones. The deliverables span 5 dimensions:
- Technology: Bonding Curve, Need-Driven Funding mechanism, Dashboard, Distribution algorithms
- Marketplace: Pilot use cases (Babysitting, Street Fundraising, etc.) demonstrating the model in practice
- Community: Civic Incentive, Waves, Communities of Practice, Early Adopters programme
- Communication: Explainer videos, communication campaigns
- Governance: Full contract modelling, multilingual core content, Open Calls operational
Two funding tranches: dogfooding then open calls
The CHF 1,000,000 round is structured in two tranches, addressing the cold start effect:
- First tranche (~CHF 200,000 to 250,000): dogfooding. Deliver the base technology maximising user autonomy (including the WikiDeal Internal AI for contract analysis/transformation), and build WikiDeal's own community as the sole initial pilot, driven by the bonding curve and participatory funding. No external recruitment or migration yet.
- Second tranche (~CHF 800,000): open calls. Launch open calls for pilot experiments, open to any type of community (federations and user-group representatives running pilots). Spheres of activity are defined, deliberately avoiding head-on competition with very mature markets (short-term housing / Airbnb-type, taxi transport / Uber-type). Prerequisites: clearer rules of the game, demonstrated legal feasibility (arbitration), one-click smartphone-app generation pulling wiki data, and peer/lawyer endorsement validating contracts. The deliverables of this tranche notably include the results of the whole wave 2 of open calls (evolving list).
Milestone 1: Bonding Curve Live
Goal: activate the fundraising infrastructure
- Bonding Curve deployed and functional (formula: reward(i,r) = -30r + 30(r+i) + 7000·e^(-0.01·r) - 7000·e^(-0.01·(r+i)))
- 3 reward types operational: Donor, Community Reward, Personal Reward
- Early Adopter programme launched
- Funding Contract and its annexes (including this page) finalized
- Need-Driven Funding mechanism designed and documented
Milestone 2: Marketplace Pilots
Goal: demonstrate real-world marketplace operation
- At least 2 marketplace pilots live (Babysitting, Street Fundraising)
- Contract modelling for all pilot domains (base contracts, amendments, compensation, closing)
- Need-Driven Funding tested in at least one marketplace domain
- User Group (Community of Practice) operational for each pilot
Milestone 3: Community & Distribution
Goal: reward distribution and civic engagement running
- Rewards distribution mechanism implemented
- Karma token distribution mechanism implemented. Karma tokens are planned for step 2 of Prototype 1, not for the very beginning: step 1 is devoted to constituting the structure, and no services are provided yet at the start.
- Civic Incentive operational: Flex Pricing applied in at least one marketplace
- Waves programme launched (at least one priority User Group wave: e.g., arbitration groups)
- Modelling of all contracts linked to community stimulation dynamics
- Explainer videos produced (at least 3: intro, funding, marketplace pilot)
Milestone 4: Governance & Scaling
Goal: governance framework operational, ready for Prototype 2 proposal
- Open Calls fully operational (all 3 tracks: Permanent, Need-Driven Funding, Prototype)
- Results of the wave 2 open calls delivered (the list of wave 2 calls is intended to evolve)
- CDIEM evaluation process live (peer review, reputation system, X parameters)
- Multilingual translation of all core content completed
- Governance transfer criteria defined (Steering Committee → community)
- Communication campaigns: at least 2 major campaigns
- Position paper for Prototype 2 drafted (based on learnings from P1)
Prototype 2: Preview
Prototype 2 deliverables will be defined through the Prototype Proposal process described in Open Call. At this stage, the following themes are anticipated:
- Refinement of the Bonding Curve formula based on real data from P1
- Expansion to additional marketplace domains (Housing, Transport, etc.)
- Full autonomy of community governance (reduced Steering Committee role)
- Advanced Civic Incentive mechanisms (representation rights, analysis seats)
