Alerts: small loans

Tone rule for this market

Every alert in this market is written to be readable by a sibling without flinching. Facts, dates, next steps; never blame. The renegotiation option appears in every money alert, because announcing a difficulty early is exactly the behavior this market wants to reward.

Alerts with example texts

AL1. Signature pending

"Your small loan agreement with [Name] is drafted and waiting for your signature. Nothing is binding yet. Take the time to read the commentary next to each clause; this contract exists to protect the relationship, not to trap anyone."

AL2. Installment due soon

  • Trigger: an installment is 3 days away.
  • Example: "Reminder: installment [2 of 6], [CHF 50], is due on [date]. If this date is difficult, propose a new schedule now: rescheduling before the due date keeps everything simple."

AL3. Payment received

  • Trigger: the Lender confirms receipt of an installment.
  • Example: "Received and recorded: [CHF 50] from [Name], installment [2 of 6]. Remaining balance: [CHF 200]. The repayment table is up to date."

AL4. Installment late, day 5 (friendly)

  • Trigger: 5 days late, no renegotiation pending.
  • Example: "Installment [3 of 6], due [date], has not been recorded. Life happens: reply with a date that works, or send a rescheduling proposal. This message is only visible to the two of you."

AL5. Installment late, day 15 (formal, support group)

  • Trigger: 15 days late, no renegotiation pending, support group activated in the contract.
  • Example: "Installment [3 of 6] is now 15 days late and no new schedule has been proposed. As agreed in your contract (clause S4), the support group can now be asked to help find a solution, privately. Proposing a new schedule today keeps this between the two of you."

AL6. Recovery step reached, day 30

  • Trigger: 30 days late, ladder step 3 (guarantor or pledge) applies.
  • Example: "As agreed in clause S8, the next step of your contract now applies: [guarantor called upon up to CHF X / pledge procedure starts]. This step was agreed by both of you at signature. Mediation remains available at any moment."

AL7. Renegotiation proposal pending

  • Trigger: a rescheduling or conversion proposal awaits an answer for 72h.
  • Example: "[Name] proposed: [new schedule / partial payment / service conversion]. While this proposal is pending in good faith, no recovery step runs. Please answer: accept, decline, or counter-propose."

AL8. Full repayment and release

  • Trigger: last installment confirmed.
  • Example: "The loan between [Lender] and [Borrower] is fully repaid. Pledge released, guarantor discharged, support group informed and thanked. The closing record is ready to sign. Well done, both of you."

Parameters

Day counts (5, 15, 30) and the 72h reply window are the portal's default parameters, taken from the contract's recovery ladder (clause S8). Parties can adjust them by amendment.
