💡 In simple words: This is the agreement between a pet owner and a pet sitter so the pet is well cared for and everyone knows the rules and the price.

📋 Contract Model 2 — Pet Sitting Agreement

Parties: Pet Owner (Recipient) · Pet Sitter (Provider)

Platform: WikiDeal Pet Care Portal

Duration: Day sessions, overnight, or extended stays

Commission: 1.5% (at cost)

Arbitration: WikiDeal Arbitration Panel

License: CC BY-SA 4.0

Use this model. Users can copy a neutral contract model and then start editing their own copy freely: the original model page stays intact. MediaWiki offers a native way to do this: open an address of the form https://wikideal.net/w/index.php?title=TITLE-OF-YOUR-COPY&action=edit&preload=Markets/en/Portal:Pet_Sitting/Contract-Base:Pet_Sitting. Replace TITLE-OF-YOUR-COPY with the exact title of the new page you want to create; a clear, specific title (for example the type of deal and a date) makes the copy easy to find later. The preload value must be the exact title of the model page to copy, for example Markets/en/Portal:Babysitting/Contract-Model:Babysitting; on a model page, this box already shows that page's title. The editor then opens pre-filled with the model, ready to be adapted. When copying a model, you also need to determine in which portal your contract belongs (transportation, housing, personal services, and so on); the categories for this classification remain to be created and are part of the questions of the open call on URL naming and structure.

Article 1 — Parties, Animals, and Scope

This agreement is between the Pet Owner (Recipient) and the Pet Sitter (Provider), both registered on the WikiDeal Pet Care Portal. The agreement covers care of the specific animal(s) listed in the platform profile during the agreed periods. The Recipient must disclose all relevant veterinary information, behavioural characteristics, dietary requirements, and emergency contacts via the platform's pet profile system before the first session begins. Failure to disclose material information that affects the Provider's capacity to care safely for the animal may constitute grounds for contract termination with full payment retained.

Article 2 — Services and Standard of Care

The Provider agrees to maintain the animal(s) in the same or better condition as received, following all care instructions specified in the platform profile. Standard services include: feeding per schedule; exercise and outdoor time appropriate to the species and breed; medication administration if pre-arranged and clearly documented; regular status updates (minimum daily photo/message) to the Recipient via platform messaging; and immediate emergency notification if the animal displays signs of distress, illness, or injury.

Article 3 — Veterinary Emergencies and Liability

In the event of a veterinary emergency, the Provider shall attempt to contact the Recipient immediately. If contact is not possible within 30 minutes, the Provider is authorised to take the animal to the nearest available veterinary practice. Pre-authorised emergency spending up to CHF 200 may be incurred without prior approval; amounts above this threshold require Recipient authorisation except in life-threatening situations. Costs incurred during genuine emergencies are the Recipient's responsibility and are processed through the platform's expense reporting system.

Article 4 — Compensation and Cancellation

Rates are agreed per session type (day sitting, overnight, extended stay) and confirmed before the booking is locked. Cancellations by the Recipient with less than 48 hours' notice for overnight or extended stays incur a 75% cancellation fee. For day sessions, the standard 24-hour/2-hour cancellation tiers from the Babysitting Agreement apply. The Provider's travel to collect or return the animal, if agreed, is compensated at a flat rate specified in the platform booking.

Article 5 — Dispute Resolution

Disputes are resolved via the WikiDeal Arbitration Panel per standard WikiDeal procedures. Photo and message evidence stored on the platform is automatically available to arbitrators. Disputes regarding animal condition at return must be raised within 24 hours of collection; after this window, the platform assumes the condition was acceptable. The Provider's reputation score is affected by arbitrated outcomes; repeated substantiated complaints may result in User Group review of the Provider's account status.
