A new step begins — Pre-launch publication phase
WikiDeal is entering a new phase. The project stays exactly the same in its mission; what changes is that we are now publishing the governance, economy and research work that has been developed — so it can be read, discussed and improved.
This is a pre-community-opening publication: the content below is shared ahead of the community opening. It is not yet open for participation — soon there will be news with concrete opportunities to take part. Everything published in this phase is documented openly and marked as not yet approved while it is under review.
Follow the recent changes to see the migration happening live.
Our founding question
WikiDeal is, at its core, a research and development project that explores one question:
Our answer is: yes — but only if the governance model is radically different. This means combining the principles of digital commons (like Wikipedia), a cooperative commission model, and community-driven value distribution. The pages below document how we propose to make that work.

What is WikiDeal?
WikiDeal is a community providing models of contracts and a marketplace to make deals using these contracts.
Like on Wikipedia, you can freely access, edit and adapt these contracts, for any context and needs. Each contract model is connected to a community of users dedicated to improving the contract model, and the marketplace associated with it.
A common owned by its users
Users can contribute to developing the platform's technology, legal support and new marketplaces. Coaching to design and adapt deals, mediation & arbitration for fair compensation...
WikiDeal adopts the highest standards on ethics, privacy, customer support, free licensing, low costs and high efficiency, inspired by the participatory governance of Wikipedia and free software projects.
Try our prototype
You can find our alpha-version proof of concept at https://app.wikideal.net, which is made of two parts:
- A "contract builder" which allows you to use one of the contract templates on our wiki, customize it with your own information, and export the result.
- A "contract uploader" which allows you to contribute contracts that you have used in the past, so that the WikiDeal community can use them as inspiration to build new contract models or improve existing ones.
