During the migration of the Wikimedia Foundation Governance Wiki policies to WikiDeal, some source pages are proposed not to be copied to WikiDeal. This page lists those pages, with an explicit reason for each entry. This list is a proposal: final decisions belong to the steering committee. It covers the policies index (Policy:Main) and the Legal: documentation namespace (reviewed in July 2026).

Non-migrated pages

Specific to Wikimedia services, tools or technical infrastructure with no WikiDeal equivalent

• Wikimedia Maps terms of use: specific to the Wikimedia Maps service, which has no WikiDeal equivalent.
• Wikimedia Phabricator terms of use: specific to Phabricator, the Wikimedia development platform, which has no WikiDeal equivalent.
• IP Information Tool policy: specific to a Wikimedia investigation tool that is not deployed on WikiDeal.
• Peering policy: specific to the network and datacenter peering arrangements of the Wikimedia infrastructure.
• Terms of Use FAQ on paid contributions without disclosure: specific to paid editing of encyclopedic articles; the disclosure principles are integrated directly in section 4 of the Terms of Use proposal.
• Use of Wikimedia sites for advocacy purposes FAQ: tied to Wikimedia-specific banner infrastructure; the policy itself has been adapted.

Specific to the encyclopedic domain or to sister projects with no WikiDeal equivalent

• Open access policy: governs open access to scholarly research supported by the Wikimedia Foundation; specific to the free knowledge research domain, not applicable to a contracts platform.

Covers topics that are not yet current for WikiDeal; could be included later

• Donor SMS supplementary terms: WikiDeal has no SMS donation program.
• Trademark policy: the WikiDeal and Ynternet.org Foundation trademark portfolio is still to be defined.
• Scholarship travel policy: WikiDeal has no scholarship program.
• Service provider travel guidance: WikiDeal has no equivalent travel program for service providers.

Internal administrative, staff and Board policies of the Wikimedia Foundation

These pages regulate the internal operations of the Wikimedia Foundation as an employer and as an organization with its own Board of Trustees and committees. They are the internal governance of another organization and are proposed not to be copied as such. The governance bodies of WikiDeal, and the policies that would regulate them, are intended to emerge through the soft transmission process and the future steering committee: see Key questions, where the question of Board and staff policies remains open.

Specific to United States law

• Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) policy: specific to a United States statute (the Wikimedia Foundation is a US organization); the Ynternet.org Foundation is subject to Swiss law, and the relevance of an equivalent anti-corruption policy is to be assessed.

Reclassified after review (July 2026)

The following pages were initially proposed for exclusion, then reclassified:

• Licensing policy: reclassified for migration, now migrated as a licensing policy proposal covering the licensing of the contract templates of the marketplace, of the governance documents and of the wiki content, which is also published under a free license.
• Access to temporary account IP addresses: now an under construction page, reserved for a future adaptation.
• Modifying CheckUser logs guidelines: now an under construction page, reserved for a future adaptation.
• Visual identity guidelines: now an under construction page; the WikiDeal graphic charter is the subject of an open call.
• DMCA policy: a first draft of an adaptation to Swiss law has been created; it must be reviewed and improved.

Legal: documentation of the source wiki (reviewed July 2026)

The source wiki has a Legal: namespace with several hundred pages. The following pages were adapted and migrated: the data collection guidelines, the data retention guidelines, the data publication guidelines, the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information, plus the two under construction pages already listed above (modifying CheckUser logs and visual identity guidelines). The rest of the namespace is proposed for non-migration:

• Survey and research privacy statements (several hundred pages): records of individual surveys of the source organization. WikiDeal surveys would carry their own privacy statements, as proposed by the data collection guidelines.
• DMCA takedown records: archive of individual takedown notices under United States law; case records of the source organization. WikiDeal has its own draft policy adapted to Swiss law.
• Amicus briefs and litigation documents: filings in United States court cases of the source organization.
• Bylaws: internal statutes of the source organization; the Ynternet.org Foundation has its own statutes under Swiss law.
• Conflict of interest guidelines and questionnaire, applicant privacy policy: internal administrative and staff pages, same reason as the internal policies section above.
• 3D file patent license: specific to the 3D file hosting of the source platform, no WikiDeal equivalent.
• Country and territory protection list: an operational list of countries potentially dangerous for internet freedom, maintained by the source organization for its own context. The data publication guidelines propose that an equivalent list would be established for WikiDeal.
• European Union Digital Services Act compliance pages: compliance records tied to the source organization's obligations as a very large online platform under EU law; not yet current for WikiDeal, could become relevant later.
• Legal and safety contact information: staff contact page of the source organization; the official WikiDeal contact is info@wikideal.net.
• Legal fees assistance program and community health legal defense program: support programs of the source organization; not yet current for WikiDeal, could be considered later.
• Terms of use machine readability and interaction: tied to the source Terms of Use; could be considered as a technical improvement of the WikiDeal Terms of Use proposal.
• Misdirected requests to movement organizations: instructions specific to the source organization's network of chapters and affiliates; could be adapted later, when WikiDeal user groups and partner organizations exist.
• Text of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license: a reference copy of the license text, available at creativecommons.org; a local copy is not needed.

Review complete

The review of the source policies index (Policy:Main) and of the Legal: documentation namespace is complete: no page remains pending. Every page of the source index has either been adapted and migrated to WikiDeal, or listed above with an explicit reason for its exclusion. The exclusions remain proposals: final decisions belong to the steering committee.

The last four pages were migrated in July 2026: the Donor privacy policy, the Non-wiki privacy policy, the Office actions policy with its procedures, and the Requests for user information procedures and guidelines (first adaptation to Swiss law).

Already migrated in previous or current blocks: the Privacy policy (first draft), the Licensing policy, the Friendly space policy (verified at the source: not marked as superseded by the Universal Code of Conduct; it complements it for events), the Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines, the Underage exemptions and Exceptions, the data guidelines listed in the Legal: section above, the Resolutions, and, since July 2026: the Terms of Use, the Cookie statement, the General disclaimer, the Human rights policy, the policy on Combating online child exploitation, the Commercial sales and contracts policy, the API usage guidelines, the Code of conduct for technical spaces (source: MediaWiki.org), the Terrorist and violent extremist content procedures and guidelines, the policy on Use of the Platform for advocacy purposes, and the Feedback privacy statement.
