Welcome to the WikiDeal markets home page. Market pages are where WikiDeal develops its rules, contracts and frameworks for a fair, trustworthy and cooperative economy. A market is a specific economic area in which people and institutions make deals. Market pages help to coordinate the community’s efforts by grouping contributors around these markets, thus centralizing resources, recommendations and discussions for each market.

This home page is organized in six parts: Portals, Programs, Observatories, Rings of Trust, the Toolbox and Arbitration.

1. Portals

Portals are the generic categories that group related marketplaces together. There is no fixed number of portals: new ones are added as the community grows. A marketplace is one specific market (for example Babysitting or Taxi); a portal gathers several marketplaces of the same kind.

Note on pilots: a pilot is not a separate category of marketplace. Among all the marketplace ideas, the pilots are the ones currently retained for Prototype 1, the priority prototypes the community works on first. The current pilot is Babysitting, a pilot portal intended to go live in the first steps of WikiDeal development, possibly in 2027.

2. Programs

A program is a combination of several marketplaces into one coherent, global experience (for example housing + activities + training). A single marketplace (such as babysitting) is not itself a program; it is a service used within one or more programs. Programs are the operational backbone that turns contracts into real-world journeys. They are organized into thematic categories (Technology, Market, Social, Artistic, Retail).

3. Observatories

Observatories are where WikiDeal watches and documents a field, rather than running deals in it. They belong to the Market space too. They are intended as citizen observatories: participatory, volunteer-run, and unlimited in number. The concept and the full open list live on the Observatories home page. 4. Rings of Trust

Rings of Trust are the circles of mutual trust within which users share Karma tokens, recommendations and guarantees. Marketplaces, programs and user groups can all operate inside one or more Rings of Trust.

5. Toolbox

The Toolbox holds the building blocks the community develops inside each market:

• Use cases: scenarios in which a deal might need to be made
• Clause bases (general): the general clause groups shared across contexts, using WikiDeal’s contract template language
• Endorsed contract models (specific): models built on the clause bases, endorsed (legally validated) by lawyers for specific contexts
• Legal references: relevant law, organized by country
• Case law: legal precedents at all relevant levels
• Compensation rules: compensatory measures (conditions, pricing scales, Karma tokens)
• Reminders: automated message templates sent to the parties of a deal
• Usage tips & tutorials: guides to help users do deals well

The endorsement chain: a base of general clauses → Legal Endorsement by lawyers → endorsed models for specific contexts.

Use this model. Users can copy a neutral contract model and then start editing it freely. MediaWiki offers a native way to do this: open an address of the form https://wikideal.net/w/index.php?title=TITLE-OF-YOUR-COPY&action=edit&preload=TITLE-OF-THE-MODEL-PAGE, replacing TITLE-OF-YOUR-COPY with the title of the new page you want to create and TITLE-OF-THE-MODEL-PAGE with the exact title of the model page: the editor opens pre-filled with the model, ready to be adapted. When copying a model, you also need to determine in which portal your contract belongs (transportation, housing, personal services, and so on); the categories for this classification remain to be created and are part of the questions of the open call on URL naming and structure.

6. Arbitration

When a deal goes wrong despite everything, simplified arbitration is the option being explored to resolve the dispute: a simple compensation request first, a formal request with evidence next, and a human decision only at the very end, at a cost proportionate to the amount at stake.
