馃挕 In simple words: Big projects are guided by big dreams written down: manifestos, promises, shared values. This page collects the founding texts that inspire WikiDeal, like the ones that inspired Wikipedia, so everyone can see where the project wants to go.
馃幆 In 20 seconds (scientific summary): The Vision portal gathers the visions that guide WikiDeal and interact with one another: manifestos, raisons d'etre, professions of faith, shared values, fundamental principles and criteria. During Prototype 1, the portal mainly collects general references (founding texts of the free culture and commons movements); a synthesis is intended to emerge from this collection. As with innovations, there are visions for the platform as a whole, and there would then be specific visions for each marketplace portal (transport, housing, bike lending and more).
Vision Portal
What this portal collects
WikiDeal is guided by visions that interact with one another. They take different forms: manifestos, raisons d'etre, professions of faith, shared values, fundamental principles, criteria, and more.
This portal is a collection. In a first phase, within Prototype 1, it gathers general references: founding texts of the free culture and commons movements. From these general references, a synthesis is intended to emerge progressively.
Founding references: a first collection
The list is open; these first entries give the spirit:
- Richard Stallman, The Free Universal Encyclopedia and Learning Resource (1999): the text that formulated the idea of a free, universal encyclopedia built by everyone, which in substance gave birth to Wikipedia.
- John Perry Barlow, A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace (1996): the manifesto of an open network space governed by its own participants.
- The Debian Social Contract: the promise a free software community makes to its users, a model of a binding profession of faith.
- The Wikimedia Universal Code of Conduct: the shared behavioural base of the Wikimedia movement, which has already been adapted for WikiDeal.
- The Ecopol social contract (B芒tir Group茅 / Smala communities, V26): the community agreements of the Ecopol approach (8 golden rules, 9 agreements, 10 communication keys), an internal source of the Ynternet.org ecosystem, lived in its communities for years, adapted here for the whole of WikiDeal's relationships and community dynamics.
Platform visions and marketplace visions
As with the innovations, the visions exist at two levels:
- visions for the platform in its entirety, collected and synthesised on this portal;
- specific visions for each marketplace portal, intended to come later: for example shared visions on the world of transport, of housing, or of bike lending.
The innovation criteria are intended to be revisited in connection with this portal.
