== What this call is intended to be about ==
WikiDeal policies are largely adapted from [https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Home Wikimedia governance] and contain global clauses about the responsibilities of users. These clauses raise a challenge: they are written once, globally, but they would apply to users living under the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_of_laws law of many different countries]. This creates ambiguities and potential [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_risk legal risks] that deserve a careful review.

A first example (there would be others): the responsibility clause of the [[Policies/en/Terms-of-Use|Terms of Use]], which states that users are legally responsible for their edits and contributions, their contracts, their interactions with other users and their reuse of published content. To what extent such a global clause holds in each jurisdiction is an open question.

This draft call is intended to invite '''legal opinions''' ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_opinion avis de droit]) produced by volunteer or semi-volunteer contributors with a legal background. Concordant and discordant opinions would both be welcome: the goal is a documented, plural view of how these global policies of responsibilities would be adapted to the law of each country.
